Something clicks when you create movement using memories.
It stems deep from within and remains deep rooted in every fibre of your being for a long time. That’s what I’ve come to understand with this piece. Coming back to it after working on it earlier in the year, I allow myself to feel what I felt originally but I’m allowing myself to be open to new experiences also.
The process is always fresh and this comes from working with new people. They bring something new to the work and that is something to be treasured. I leave every rehearsal with a sense of achievement because I’ve helped make something that is pure and true for me and placed it in the creative mix. You can’t create freely if you’re constantly focusing on the end product because it encourages a stale mentality which isn’t fruitful. You must live in every moment and draw from what’s around you and that’s something that I’ve cherished working with Giulia and the rest of the team.
